So I'm in the great and awful position of working on 3 non-paying but extremely important projects at the same time, each of which could easily be full-time projects. I can tell you about two of them.
1. Tadly, of course. Let me tell you, making your own animated series is a very arduous project. I suppose that's why no one does it. BUT I DO. So I'm still hard at work on Episode 01 (which is actually the second episode since we stared with 00). But it's long and involves friends helping with voices and blah blah blah. So that's still in process. Be patient.
2. I'm doing some work for the local library system. More on that in a few weeks when I have something to show, but I guarantee that you'll love it. I've gotten to talk to some of the people who run the library and hear from them what a crap time they have of it trying to stay open. To paraphrase - When will libraries be well-funded?
When reading becomes a sport.3. I've been handed a giant opportunity, career-wise. Can't talk about it, and it's only an opportunity- not an offer, sure thing, or anything other than a chance. Hopefully in the next few months I'll be able to talk about it. Even if it doesn't work out, it's terribly flattering and exciting.
Oh yeah, and I'm still looking for a full-time job or at least steadier freelance. My skills are kinda wasted on most people in Pittsburgh. (MOST people. I've gotten some great work and some wonderful opportunities that are still pending.) The market here doesn't have a ton of room for what I do. New York and LA? Sure, tons of opportunity. So if anyone has an interesting (and paying) project in the next few months, don't hesitate to contact me.
Beyond that, we're into show season with my wife's handmade plush business. That means tons of traveling and, among other things, spreading the gospel of Tadly Waldorfington. We've had some great responses so far and I can't wait to talk to people in Chicago, St Louis, and Providence, to name only a few. Stay tuned.
Also, Lord Of The Rings Online went free to play. That's all I can say about that other than if you see two hobbits named Bliobo and Prancy running through the Barrow Downs on the Crickhollow server, it might be my wife and I.
Otherwise, it's the best time of my life thus far and the best time of the year. So hooray for everything.
